Past The Horsehide And Hotdogs

True to its name, "Wrigley Field: Beyond the Ivy" (9 p.m. Monday, repeated 11 p.m. Wednesday, Milwaukee's Channel 10) gets past the horsehide-and-hotdogs clichés to deliver some surprisingly penetrating insights about the alternative universe of Chicago Cubs fandom.

Among the more memorable figures in this 90-minute documentary are rabid ball hawk Moe Mullins, a fan who has caught an astonishing 3,000-plus balls; and Steve Wolf, a ballpark model builder and unlikely tragicomic hero. Evanston native and Cubs fan William Petersen ("CSI: Crime Scene Investigation") does the on-camera introductions.
